Discover Meribel
The history of the resort
Méribel and the Allues Valley was discovered and operated in 1936 by a Scottish major Peter Lindsey who built the very first ski lift. This aristocrat was seduced by the wide open spaces and the wooded landscape of this destination. To magnify the place, he decided to build buildings while respecting the harmony of the Savoyard style. Today, the village of Méribel has kept all its charm and authenticity thanks to the aesthetic guideline of the time.
During the tourist development of the resort in the 70s, the architectural specificity of Méribel has always been respected.
