Comprising 11 villages ranging from 1,250 to 2,100 meters in altitude, La Plagne offers a unique atmosphere at each elevation: from Montchavin-Les Coches to Belle Plagne, passing through Plagne Centre, Plagne Soleil, and Champagny-en-Vanoise. La Plagne owes its growth to an innovative vision born in the 1960s. Driven by four municipalities and the champion Emile Allais, an iconic figure in French skiing, an integrated resort was created, designed to blend harmoniously with the mountain environment. A successful gamble, as La Plagne hosted the bobsleigh and luge events of the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games.
